Shield N Seal 11 inch Vacuum Sealer
The time had come. I had been vacuum sealing for over a year. I was sealing snacks, dinners, fruits and vegetables from the garden, toiletries for safe travel on airplane flights, I even sucked the air out of chip bags and sealed the ends to keep it fresh! I felt I had hit the professional level of food-sealing when we invested in a second freezer for our garage. And that’s when it hit me: it was time for an upgrade. After doing my research I was sure I wanted to try a Shield N Seal product, so I invested in the 11” Commercial Grade Vacuum Sealer (SNS 605). At under $300 it was competitively priced, and I liked the idea of it being fast to seal and easy to clean. Upon arrival it was obviously more heavy-duty than my first sealer, with a higher-pressure powerful vacuum. Initial tests included sealing raw meats in my BBQ-sauce marinade, and a full shoulder of shredded smoked pork that produced a lot of leftovers I wished to save. It takes 3-seconds max to heat a perfect seal, and the process is displayed on the convenient control panel front and center. It has a very cool “marinate mode” which has already gotten some use. I was pleasantly surprised that it was super easy to clean after all, as advertised. Because of the commercial-status, this sealer is ready for some serious use, so it comes with replacement parts and doesn’t need fancy after-market tools for repairs. That’s a win!
